Why Is Cricket Storytime Important?
According to The National Institute of Children’s Health and Development, a child should have a minimum of 1,000 hours of ‘lap time’ (read to, singing, talking etc.) to have the readiness skills they need to be a strong reader.
Additionally, “If we wait until children are five years old and entering kindergarten, it will take three hours a day of ‘lap time’ to catch these children up with their peers in order to be ready to read” says Chinook Elementary Literacy Team.
Cricket Storytime helps you as a parent, or guardian give your child these much needed hours. So whether you are at home, or on the go, your child can join our virtual classroom for a read a-loud from anywhere on any device.
